Quaff Bros. Brewery was founded in 2008 in Bellevue, Kentucky by Danny Gold and Jay Erisman. The two worked together at The Party Source, a liquor store and keg store in Bellevue, when Gold began brewing the beer as a roaming brewer, collaborating with other local brewers. In 2017, Gold left The Party Source, and took the Quaff Bros brand with him. However, as he began the trademark process for the name, he had discovered the similarly named Quaff On! Brewing Company, owned by Big Woods Restaurants. The two sides began a conversation, which led to Quaff On! acquiring the Quaff Bros brand from Gold to use as their barrel-aging brand. The company has since discontinued the use of the name, however.
